This was the lesson learned too late by Alejandro Trinidad, an employee of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor). He was killed in a vehicular accident in Sta. Mesa, Manila shortly before dawn yesterday.
Police said Trinidad and his three companions were all intoxicated when the accident took place at the corner of 2nd Street and V. Mapa Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Trinidad, a resident of Baliuag, Bulacan is an employee of the Pagcor Bingo at SM Centerpoint in Sta. Mesa, Manila. He died while being rushed to the Lourdes Hospital.
Injured were Daniel Teodoro, 38, driver, of 223 Gov. Pascual Street, Navotas; Armand Fortuza, 36, of 12-E Sixto St., Pasig City; and Jimboy Moises, 25, of 317-H Kalaw Apartment, Bagumbayan, Taguig. They were taken to the same hospital for medical treatment.
Victims told probers that they had a drinking spree in a bar in Sta. Mesa before the accident occurred.
A drunken Teodoro drove the vehicle (PLK-674) and was turning right at V. Mapa when he overshot his mark, causing the vehcile to go over the island.
Due to the impact, Trinidads head hit an iron bar at the front side of the vehicle while Teodoro was thrown out of the jeepney and landed on the pavement. Cecille Suerte Felipe
