Two men riding tandem on a motorcycle were killed after they slammed into a concrete post while cruising the flyover linking the Pandacan and Sta. Mesa districts early yesterday morning.
Police identified the victims as Roberto Cartober, 31, an employee of Excel Quality and a resident of 2327 Aquamarine Street, San Andres Bukid, Manila; and Jason Abaril, 21, also a resident of San Andres.
Initial police investigation showed that the victims were riding on a red Honda motorcycle with plate number UA-2703 at about 4:15 a.m. when the accident happened on the Sta. Mesa bound lane of the Fr. Jacinto Zamora fly-over. The flyover is located near the Nagtahan Bridge along the President Quirino Avenue.
Police said the motorcycle suddenly lost control and slammed into a concrete electrical post. The impact threw the victims, who were not wearing helmets, off the motorcycle and into the pavement.
