The body of a 14-year-old boy was fished out of the Pasig River in Makati Saturday afternoon.
Gilbert Samonte was identified by his father, Danilo Samonte, of E. Mejia street, Hilltop, Bagong Ilog, Pasig.
PO1 Reuel Crisolo Riodique said the father last saw the victim alive while taking a bath in the river. He noticed that his son was missing and immediately sought the assistance of the Philippine Coast Guard.
At 5 pm that same day, a bystander at the Makati Park noticed a body floating in the river near the boundaries of Makati and Mandaluyong. The bystander called the attention of a traffic enforcer nearby.
With the help of the Makati Rescue Team, Samontes bloated body was fished out from the river. The police are still investigating the cause of his death. Nikko Dizon
