After finding out she had a terminal illness, a 21-year-old woman decided to end her misery by hanging herself inside her uncles house yesterday morning in Quezon City.
Police identified the victim as Lenny Joven, a resident of 201 Mabuhay Compound in Barangay Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City. She was found hanging from the ceiling inside her bedroom.
According to Police Officer 1 Edwin de la Cruz, officer-on-case, Joven has been living at the said address for some time now. Reports showed that the incident occurred between 9 a.m to 10 a.m.
Housemaid Jocel Rubiato, 14, found the victim hanging from the ceiling with a nylon cord tied around her neck.
Responding policemen who arrived at the scene found a suicide note beside the body. The note indicated that De la Cruz has an illness that cannot be cured and that she wants "to get it over with."
Central Police District operatives found no other traces of bruises on Jovens body except for ligature marks on her neck.
Follow-up investigation are still being conducted to make sure that no foul play was involved. Matthew Estabillo
