Man killed by tricycle

A 60-year-old man was killed after being hit by a tricycle Friday night in Parañaque City.

Police identified the victim as Micrispolo Alcantara, 60, married, a resident of Las Piñas City.

Based on the investigation of the police, Alcantara was crossing Dr. Santos Avenue in Parañaque City at 9:25 p.m. when the incident took place.

Alcantara failed to notice a tricycle headed toward his direction. The tricycle was driven by Jaime Paenza, 53, a resident of Barangay San Dionisio in Parañaque City.

The driver saw Alcantara emerge in front of his vehicle but failed to swerve in time to avoid him.

Alcantara was critically injured as a result of the impact and was carried by the concerned driver to his tricycle. However, the victim died before reaching the hospital.

Paenza immediately surrendered to the police. – Marvin Sy
