Las Piñas police in 24-hour patrols

Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel "Nene" Aguilar has directed police chief Superintendent Armando Pineda and his men to conduct round-the-clock patrols and surveillance work throughout the city following a series of crime and kidnapping cases in Metro Manila and in nearby areas.

The measure according to Aguilar aims to prevent any crime and kidnapping from happening in Las Piñas and to ensure the safety and security of the city residents against criminals.

Pineda added that the measure is in anticipation of the rise in crime and kidnapping cases, especially in the advent of the Christmas season when criminals and kidnap-for-ransom gangs strike and conduct their illegal activities.

Pineda said eight mobile cars and 24 motorcycle-riding policemen will be deployed for surveillance and patrol work in areas considered critical such as schools, shopping malls, markets, churches, subdivisions and villages and other public places to protect the residents, shoppers, students and commuters.
