"These motorcycle were provided to the NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office) for the prevention and suppression of crimes, and should not be used in weddings and funerals," Velasco pointed out. "We want our cops to be counted on to be at their assigned battleposts at the designated time."
He added: "The citizenry deserve to have cops as law enforcers, not cops acting as escorts. We must not shortchange the public on their expectations of the police force."
The Metro police chief stressed that any motor cop caught escorting weddings and funerals will be slapped with administrative charges.
