The victim, Florence Mae Guillermo, of Unit 746, 7th Floor, Cityland Pioneer Condominium located at 128 Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City hit the ground head first. Her head was crushed and she sustained multiple fractures in the body and died on the spot.
Her boyfriend, William Ryan, 45, a retired American surgeon from Las Vegas, Nevada was inside the condominium unit when police prober SPO3 Reyminigildo Suarez arrived to investigate.
Suarez advised Ryan not to leave the country until it was determined that there was no foul play involved in Guillermos death.
Security guard Ronie Envidiado said he saw Guillermo falling from the building and land on the pedestrian sidewalk head first. Envidiado immediately called for police assistance and Suarez and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) arrived to gather evidence at the site and at the victims rented condo.
Suarez said Guillermo took it hard when Ryan revealed to her that he wanted to end their relationship.
For the past several days, Ryan said he observed Guillermo was not her usual self, drinking heavily and taking illegal drugs.
Envidiado claimed that the last time he saw Guillermo alive was at about 10 a.m. Aug. 28 standing under a tree outside the condo building, reeking of liquor and with misty eyes. The victim stayed in the said place for five hours apparently waiting for Ryan to arrive.
Suarez said Ryan did not say whether he and Guillermo were engaged in a heated argument before the victim jumped out of the window of the condo unit at about 8 p.m. Saturday. But Ryan said he tried to persuade Guillermo not to carry out her threat to end her life.
Police recovered a bloodstained bedsheet, a syringe containing traces of a red substance, a bottle of liquor and a glass containing liquor inside the victims condo unit.
The body of Guillermo was brought to the Philippine National Police (PNP) crime laboratory for autopsy. Non Alquitran
