Two men arrested for the robbery of a Jollibee branch in Pasig City, were presented to Mayor Soledad Eusebio yesterday by city police chief John Sosito.
Police said Domingo Fernandez, 42, a fisherman and native of Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat and Joselito Manligro, 37, an auto mechanic and native of Manading, Lanao del Norte, were members of the Ozamis Group that looted the cashier and customers of the Jollibee branch in Manggahan, Pasig on Aug. 27.
Several other suspects involved in other crimes, including rape, were presented to the mayor at city hall.
Eusebio urged all Pasiguenos to be vigilant at all times and report immediately to police any criminal elements in the neighborhood.
"This is a stern warning to all those criminals, reform or the law will get you soon. Criminals have no place in Pasig City," she said.
Meanwhile, Pasig police said the 14 armed men who pulled off the Jollibee heist were initially after the stores P200,000 earnings but only managed to take P50,000 from the cashier and a few valuables from some 30 customers.
The two arrested suspects said they had to leave in haste after monitoring the arrival of responding policemen on a two-way radio.
Fernandez claimed his share of the loot was P800 while Manligro, being in his first heist as member of the gang, was given P700.
The Pasig police have filed robbery charges against Fernandez, Manligro and other suspects positively identified by witnesses and Jollibee employees. Both Fernandez and Manligro are detained at the Pasig City jail.
Sosito said two others suspects Robert Ortiz and Paciano Lagunay were positively identified by their victims through police mug shots. Non Alquitran
