Las Piñas offers free caesarian operations

Las Piñas City residents need not worry anymore about the high cost of hospitalization following the announcement of Mayor Vergel "Nene" Aguilar to offer a free caesarian operations at the Las Piñas Lying-in and Maternity Center.

The free caesarian operation program is part of the Las Piñas City government’s expansion of health services to cover the broadest number of residents in the city, especially the economically-disadvantaged sector.

Aguilar made this announcement as the center celebrates its second anniversary next month.

The mayor said the free caesarian operations will be exclusive for Las Piñas residents only, particularly those who cannot afford the expensive private clinics and hospitals.

Dr. Julio Javier II, the center’s administrator, said two specialists will perform the operations along with a team of professional midwives and nurses.

The center also offers cataract operations, eye check-ups, pre-natal, and child delivery services for free to all legitimate residents of the city.

Established in the year 2000, the center has a 14-bed modern and air-conditioned maternity center complete with medical facilities and staffed by professional and experienced doctors, midwives and nurses.

Since its establishment in September 2000 more than 2,000 residents have already benefited from its services.
