Valenzuela mayor urges unity among barangay leaders

Valenzuela City Mayor Bobbit Carlos called on newly sworn in barangay leaders to unite and work together for the common aspiration of making a progressive and highly deve-loped city.

"Let us work together in molding a highly progressive Valenzuela City that we can be proud of – a city that we can leave behind as our legacy to the incoming generations of Filipinos," Carlos told hundreds of newly-elected barangay leaders in their recent swearing in at the Valenzuela Convention Center.

Carlos impressed upon the local officials that it is only in Valenzuela City wherein traditional politicians and dynasties have been relegated in the background giving the new breed of politicians a dominant force to carve out a "progressive and humane urban habitué for the future generation. "On a higher plane of social, political and economic relations, let us stand united in building up a respected society and is being looked up to," Carlos said.

The mayor urged the barangay leaders to make their respective localities environmentally viable, peaceful, and progressive.

"Let us stand united in remolding a city where the people are peace-loving, God-fearing, physically strong, honorable, environmentally conscious and most of all united for the common good," Carlos added. Pete Laude
