Makati hospital gets modern equipment

Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay announced that the Section of Clinical Chemistry of the Ospital ng Makati (OSMAK) is now fully operational, giving the city-owned hospital greater capabilities in blood chemistry analysis.

Binay said that the section of Clinical Chemistry is now equipped with a fully automated clinical chemistry analyzer called Dade Behring Dimension RxL, where individual tests or profiles can now be requested depending upon the diagnostic needs of the patients. Results are now also available in minutes, thus eliminating long hours of waiting.

The Dimension RxL with unique modular technology machine, has an easy to use snap-in cartridge that can perform up to 1,200 tests with no daily or weekly maintenance and can get results of sodium, potassium and chloride as fast as 48 seconds.

Dr. Ernesto Santos, medical director of OSMAK, said that the Dade Behring Dimension RxL is the leading chemistry analyzer. It has combined the capabilities of many analyzers into just one instrument hood which is used by eight out of 10 United States hospitals and most major clinical reference laboratories worldwide.
