SPO4 Leonardo Timtiman, officer-in-charge of the Makati police Homicide Division, identified the victim as Eduardo Nuñez, Officer I of the BOC at Port Area, Manila and a tenant of the Earthrise Condominium Building located at J. Javier St., Barangay Pio del Pilar, Makati City.
Investigation conducted by the Makati police revealed that the incident took place at around 3 a.m. yesterday in front of the condominium. Witnesses claimed that Nuñez was gunned down execution style by two or three men.
After they were sure that Nuñez was dead, the suspects casually walked away with their firearms. Passersby saw Nuñez slumped on the pavement and immediately called the police.
The body was brought to the Veronica Funeral Homes in Pasay City.
Investigators are still trying to figure out the motive for the killing.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old ice cream vendor shot to death a colleague yesterday morning inside an ice cream factory in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Quezon City for selling more frozen products than him.
Alvin Maguiling, 22, a stay-in vendor at the ice cream factory located at 11 Lanao St., Barangay Sto. Cristo, sustained a bullet wound in the jaw and died on the spot.
The suspect, Remigio Tanio, 40, of Barangay Pag-asa, was able to escape after the shooting. He was armed with a homemade shotgun.
Police sources said that Tanio and Maguiling did not get along at work. The suspect was reportedly jealous of the latter for selling more ice cream than him. Marvin Sy and Matthew Estabillo
