Privilege card in Marikina issued

Marikina Mayor Ma. Lourdes Fernando was joined by Civil Service Commissioner Karina David as the city launched the Marikina Citizens First Privilege Card Wednesday morning.
David was with Fernando in the distribution of the ATM-type MCF Privilege Card to the first of its 25 real estate taxpayers who will now enjoy the benefits of paying their taxes on time.
The Privilege Card in pursuant to a city ordinance, is a mechanism aimed to encourage and provide the people with an opportunity to actively participate in every city government projects and activities. Through this participation, every city constituents will then cooperate with city government by means of religiously paying their obligations on time.
Cluster on Public Health, Environment and Social Services headed by City Health Officer Alberto Herrera will be the one in-charge of the issuance and control of the card. One of the process in acquiring the card includes the presentation of most recent taxpayers tax declaration receipt. The Privilege Card will have the taxpayers name, address and picture embossed on it.
The first Privilege Card will cover free use of ambulance, medical services, water and food analysis, Marikina River Park facilities and youth camp building, dog vaccination, city bus, radio announcement over DZBF 1674 KHz, dumping of filling materials and declogging of drainage systems.
