July 20, 2002 | 12:00am
Filipino communities abroad will have the chance to hear President Arroyo deliver her State of the Nation Address (SONA) live on Monday, July 22, via an internet-based radio station.
The live transmission will be part of a test broadcast of Philippine Internet Broadcast International, www.phibi.com, a Filipino cyber radio station operated by the Foundation for the Advancement of New Media, an NGO with links to Pinoy IT professionals based in the US.
Phibi is testbroadcasting live from Manila using streaming technology through the facilities of Bitstop of Dagupan. Philippine Broadcasting Service (PBS) through Radyo ng Bayan will provide the live feed. Since the webcast will be available live over the Internet, the SONA can be virtually heard by Filipinos anywhere in the world in real-time.
