The suspect, Cherry Evangelista, a resident of Phase I, Matanza, Barangay Pinagbuhatan admitted during tactical interrogation she brought the illegal stuff upon the request of her husband, Leo, who is a confessed drug addict.
According to Cherry, she visited Leo, who was jailed for robbery, at about 6 p.m. Thursday.
When a lady guard at the Pasig City jail in Barangay Nagpayong conducted a thorough search of her body, she found a sachet of shabu safely hidden inside her bra.
Cherry said the confiscated shabu was for her husband’s consumption.
She denied she was into drugs. Police will file possession of illegal drugs charges against Cherry who is now in a cell opposite the one occupied by Leo. – Non Alquitran
