Seized shabu to be burned in Munti

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi will lead the burning of 4.7 kilograms of shabu tomorrow at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Alabang.
Fresnedi will be joined by Justice Secretary Hernando Perez, Dangerous Drugs Board Executive Director Bernardo Lastimoso , Vice Mayor Jo Jason Alvarez, Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon, and Muntinlupa police chief Erasto Sanchez.
The confiscated shabu is worth P7 million and the court has ordered its immediate disposal.
The city government led by the Vice Mayors Office and the Muntinlupa Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Council (MDAPACC) will also host the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADIT) at the New Bilibid Prisons Sunken Garden in cooperation with the Dangerous Drugs Board-Interim Agency Committee-Drug Abuse Prevention Education.
Expected to attend the international event are thousands of students from different public and private schools in all the nine barangays in the city. Various students from civic-oriented universities in Metro Manila will also join the gathering such as AMA Computer College, STI, West Bay College, Samson Institute of Technology, International Electronic and Technical Institute.
With the theme, :Pagmamalabis sa Droga at HIV-AIDS, Magkaakibat, Magkasingsama," the endeavor is also coordinated with all the Metro Manila Anti-Drug Abuse Council government agencies, non-government groups, and other socio-civic and religious organizations.
