Victim Dwight David Babia, single, of 15 West Riverside, San Francisco Del Monte, was found hanging from the ceiling in his bathroom with a blanket tied around his neck as a noose.
Police sources said that Babia might have killed himself because he had been "financially and emotionally" depressed for over a year now. A suicide note was discovered near the victims body.
According to PO3 Ferdinand Paredes, a certain Edwin Pagar, broke down the victims locked door at around 9 a.m. after neighbors complained of a foul smell emitting from Babias rented house.
"He (the victim) must have been dead for the past five days because his body is already in an advanced state of decomposition. There are no traces of foul play involved in this incident," Paredes said in an interview.
It appears that Babia was a former employee of DM Consunji Inc., and was assigned to work on the then ongoing construction of the NAIA extension terminal in Pasay City.
However, he was terminated from his job in the middle of last year and has been unemployed since. According to the suicide note addressed to his sister Iris, he was "psychologically and financially down." Matthew Estabillo
