‘Peeping tom’ stabbed in the eye, dies

-
A fish porter accused of being a "peeping tom" was stabbed in the eye by a relative of the object of his carnal desires resulting in his death in Navotas the other day.

Declared dead while undergoing treatment at the Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital Medical Center due to a stab wound in the left eye that pierced his brain was Ricky Masangque, 23, of Sitio Puttino Bato, Northbay Boulevard.

Police are now hunting the suspect identified only as a certain "Jose," said to be a neighbor of the victim.

Investigation showed that at about 5 p.m. last Monday, the suspect chanced upon the victim in front of his house. The suspect crept up to the victim who was then resting and without a word plunged an ice pick at the "offending" eye of the victim.

As the victim staggered clutching his left eye and groaning in pain, the suspect fled.

According to Romulo, 25, an older brother of the victim, the suspect was harboring an old grudge against his younger brother but did not know what or why.

Neighbors of the victim who requested anonymity told probers that the victim was caught by the suspect peeping on his woman relative some months ago. – Jerry Botial
