1 hurt in Caloocan fire

A man was injured in a fire in Caloocan City that razed a furniture shop and an adjacent motor works yesterday. Damage was estimated by arson probers at P10 million .
Caloocan Fire Marshal Chief Inspector Agapito Nacario identified the victim as Vicente Gerardo, 36, stay-in helper at the CPI Motors beside Comlife Furnitures and Accessories owned by Grace See-Cabangbang, both located at 4841 Tullahan Road, Sta. Quiteria Caloocan City. The fire broke out at 9:55 a.m. yesterday morning, blamed on sparks from a welding job inside the shop falling on wood shavings and other flammable materials. The shop was undergoing emergency repairs when the fire broke out.
It took about two hours before the fire was put out by firefighters. Nacario said there were no reported deaths in the fire. Jerry Botial
