Classrooms will be ready, Tinga assures parents

Taguig Mayor Freddie Tiñga assured yesterday parents of students at the North Daang Hari Elementary School (NDHES) in Barangay Tanyag that classrooms will be ready for school opening on June 17.
Tiñga ordered the construction of two temporary classrooms within the NDHES compound that students will use to augment six existing classrooms. The mayor allayed fears that the school childrens studies will be disrupted by the ongoing reconstruction of the school building. A permanent three-story school building with five classrooms for every floor and a roof deck is expected to be completed by September.
NDHES principal Teresita Carlos thanked Tiñga for his support, prioritizing the welfare of their 1,184 students. Carlos vows to work hand in hand with the local government to ensure that everything is ready for the school opening on June 17.
As early as March, Councilor Marisse Balina-Eron filed a resolution before the Municipal Council requesting Tiñga to allocate funds for the construction of the North Daang Hari Elementary School. Resolution 131, Series of 2002 was approved on April 15.
On May 6, Georg Tizon, Divison Planning Budget Officer of the Department of Education Division of Taguig-Pateros, witnessed the demolition of the condemned single level NDHES building by the municipal government.
