Two meet bizarre deaths in Makati

-
Two men were found dead in unusual circumstances in separate incidents over the weekend in Makati City.

PO2 Ricky Tan of the Makati City police said the first victim was Virgilio Honrado, a security guard of the Technolux Building located along Primo Rivera St., Barangay La Paz, Makati City. Honrado was at the lobby of the building with Renante Cortez, 21, a janitor, at around 10:30 p.m. last Friday and had just cooked up a pot of instant noodles for dinner.

Cortez went up to the fourth floor to retrieve his belongings and when he returned after 15 minutes, he saw Honrado lying face down on the floor. A pool of blood had formed around the body of Honrado but there were no signs of external injuries.

Honrado was taken to the Makati Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

According to Tan, the victim might have been suffering from an ailment such as tuberculosis because of the vomiting of blood.

In a separate incident, a man fell dead from his stool while in the middle of a drinking spree in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City.

PO2 John Ramirez of the Homicide Division said Daniel Dago-Oc was drinking with his three cousins along Escuela St. at around 11:45 p.m. when the bizarre incident took place.

According to the cousins, Ronnie dela Tena, Vicente Moracilla and Juanito Bangis, they had been drinking for several hours when the victim suddenly fell from his stool.

The three men initially thought that their cousin was just drunk and did not pay any attention to him.

However, when the victim failed to get up after a while, the three cousins became concerned and brought him to a nearby hospital.

The victim was already dead by the time they arrived. Both incidents are still being investigated by the Makati City police. — Marvin Sy
