Man shot dead in wet mart

-
For earlier haggling with a vendor, a 20-year-old man was shot dead the other night inside a wet market in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.

Victim Joven Honorio, of 117 Victory Avenue, Tatalon, sustained bullet wounds in the body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Philippine Orthopedic Hospital. The killer, identified only as a certain Bobby is a market vendor, who apparently shot Honorio after the latter reportedly haggled earlier extensively over his merchandise.

Initial reports showed that the shooting took place at about 10:30 p.m. along the wet market in Cabalata St., Barangay Tatalon. Honorio and his live-in partner were walking home at the time. As they crossed Bobby’s stall, the killer, pulled out a handgun of still unknown caliber and without warning, fired four shots at Honorio, who was hit in the chest and abdomen. The victim collapsed on the floor as the gunman immediately fled the scene, taking with him the fatal weapon he had used. Honorio was rushed to the hospital where he expired at about 10:56 p.m.

Operatives of the Central Police District are now conducting follow-up operations to determine the killer’s identity and whereabouts.  Matthew Estabillo
