Pizza delivery man shot dead

A motorcycle delivery man of a popular pizza chain was shot dead early yesterday moring in Sampaloc, Manila, after he was caught in a rumble between two rival street gangs.
Police identified the victim as Joydan Villegas, 23, a Pizza Hut delivery boy and a resident of 955 Norma St., Sampaloc, Mainla.
Reports said that the shooting happened at about 2:40 a.m. as members of the warring "True Brown Style" and Temple Street" gangs clashed along Norma St., Sampaloc.
Police said that Villegas was sleeping when awakened by the noise caused by the warring groups.Villegas, police said, hurriedly stepped out of his house and tried to pacify the clashing gang members.
However, before the victim could get near the two groups, two gunshots rang out. Bystanders then saw Villegas slumped on the pavement wiht a gunshot wound in his forehead. Police said the suspects scampered on foot after the shooting. Mike Frialde
