Man stabbed dead by friend

-
A 40-year-old man was stabbed dead by his bestfriend the other night in Barangay Manresa, Quezon City, after he accused the latter of beating up his godson.

Victim Donato Domingo, of 189 Del Monte Ave., Barangay Manresa, sustained stab wounds in the body and died while receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

The suspect, identified only as a certain Garry Saes, fled together with a still unidentified male companion right after the killing taking with them the fatal weapon he used.

Reports showed that the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. right outside the victim’s home in Del Monte Avenue. Domingo was apparently having fits after finding out that his 12 year-old godson was mauled by Saes in a drunken state. As he saw his friend pass by his house with a male companion, Domingo rushed outside and confronted the suspect. Saes denied beating up the victim’s godson, as a heated argument ensued.

At one point, Saes’ companion pulled out a knife and handed it to him. The suspect then lunged at Domingo and stabbed him repeatedly in the abdomen. The victim collapsed to the ground as the suspects escaped.

Domingo’s wife Imelda, rushed her husband to the hospital where he expired early yesterday morning at about 5:15 a.m.

Meanwhile, a turf war between two taho vendors in Taguig resulted yesterday in a stabbing incident leaving one dying and the other fleeing the contested territory. PO3 Allan Sigua of the Taguig police said the incident occurred about 8:45 a.m. along Lubao St., Liguid, Taguig.

The victim, Reynaldo Soriano, 29, of Pasig City sustained multiple stab wounds while the suspect known only as "James Tisoy" fled the scene with his bladed weapon. – Matthew Estabillo and Jose Aravilla
