Husband, mistress beat up wife

-
A hapless housewife was beaten black and blue by her 56-year-old philandering husband and his 27-year-old mistress after she insisted on taking him home the other night in Caloocan City.

Still showing the cuts and bruises she got from the beating, Gloria Dasig, 44, of Sawata Street, Maypajo, Caloocan City narrated her ordeal to the police and filed charges of concubinage and physical injuries against her husband Marcelo Dasig, 56, construction worker, and his alleged lover, Marjorie Abayon, 27, of Kawal Street, Dagat-dagatan, Caloocan City.

PO1 Ma. Cedilla Mendoza, officer on case, said the noisy confrontation occurred at around four in the afternoon in the lovers’ love nest.

The Dasigs’ maid, Gloria told police the wife knew of the suspects’ illicit relationship but earlier forgave her husband after he allegedly promised to mend his ways and leave his mistress. Gloria later discovered after two long years that her husband had been carrying on the affair on the sly.

Abayon justified his philandering by saying his wife could not give him any offspring after 20 years. When pressed if he has any offspring by Marjorie, he sheepishly answered she was on birth control pills.

Meanwhile, a 30 year-old house painter was stabbed and beaten to death by his wife’s relatives the other night in Barangay Bagbag, Quezon City after a heated argument with his wife.

Victim Rodel Rodriguez, of 31 Anonas St., Ibayo 2, Barangay Bagbag, sustained stab wounds and bash marks in the head and body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bernardino Hospital.

His mother-in-law, Rebecca Samson, 52, and her two sons, Alvin, 27, and Ricky, 30, all residents of Barangay Bagbag, are now detained at the Central Police District awaiting proper charges.

Police said that the victim’s in-laws attacked him following a heated altercation with his wife, Vilma, earlier that evening.

Reports showed that the incident took place at about 6:45 p.m. in the Samson’s residence at Anonas Street, Ibayo 2. It seems domestic problems made the wife walk out of the conjugal home.

Rodriguez went to his in-laws’ home, thinking his wife was there. However, his in-laws refused to tell the victim Vilma’s whereabouts and an argument ensued.

At this juncture, Rebecca and her sons took a lead pipe, a jungle bolo, and an ice pick and attacked Rodriguez. He was stabbed repeatedly in the chest and stomach and was bludgeoned over the head with the pipe.

The victim collapsed on the floor. Neighbors rushed the victim to the hospital where he expired at about 7:20 p.m. Responding policemen arrived on the scene and apprehended the Samsons. Jerry Botial and Matthew Estabillo
