Entries can be submitted to the Agricultural and Fisheries Information Service of the Department of Agriculture in Quezon City.
Roman Floresca, PAJ president, said cash prizes totalling P500,000 and trophies, are at stake in the contest, a project of the association to promote agricultural journalism.
The contest is open to all members of national and local publications, government and private agencies, industry associations, NGOs, foundations and cooperatives.
Noel Reyes, this years chairman of the Binhi Awards Committee, said participants are required to submit copies of their published articles, photos, magazines, newsletters, radio programs aired or information media campaign launched during the contest period which is from July 1, 2001 to June, 30, 2002.
When the PAJ first conceived the Binhi Awards on Sept. 10, 1977 during a convention marking its second anniversary, the emphasis was on giving due recognition to agriculture writers.
