A reported nephew of a Muntinlupa City councilor was killed after being shot by policemen who mistook his toy pellet gun for the real one.
Allan Alamario, 22, was shot by three members of Muntinlupas Sucat police sub-station at about 11:45 p.m. in a chance encounter along Meralco Road in Sucat. The three policemen, identified as Senior Police Officer 1 Edison Pampag, PO1 Adonis Dimapilis, and PO1 Noli Priol, are now under investigation. Ballistic and paraffin tests will be conducted on their weapons and hands to determine who actually shot the victim.
Based on the investigation of the Muntinlupa City police, the victim, of Purok 2, Sucat, Muntinlupa was spotted by the patrolling cops poking a gun at an unidentified taxi driver. Apparently, the taxi driver had refused to convey the victim, prompting him to draw his toy pistol and threaten the driver. The three policemen saw the victim and his gun, and the shooting erupted.
"They (cops) reportedly fired a warning shot but the victim was said to have pointed his gun at them, forcing them to open fire," said Police Officer 2 Buenaventura dela Cuesta. Jose Aravila
