2 robbery suspects slain in QC

-
Police shot dead two suspected robbers and arrested two others Sunday midnight shortly after a robbery in Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

The Central Police District (CPD) said the four suspects were robbing Javic Gordon, 25, a Persian restaurant service crew member at Ilang-Ilang street corner Commonwealth Avenue when a mobile patrol saw them.

Police moved in to arrest the suspects, who were armed with knives and homemade shotguns. The policemen claimed the suspects resisted and gunfight ensued.

After a short exchange of gunfire, 29-year old Joey Lachana, a resident of No. 3008 Sampaguita St., Barangay Batasan Hills, and another yet unidentified suspect, lay critically wounded.

They were taken to the East Avenue Medical Center and Fairview General Hospital but attending physicians pronounced them dead on arrival.

Their two companions, a 15-year old out-of-school youth and 19-year old Jeffrey Fernandez, another out-of-school youth and a resident of No. 00, Sitio 6, Barangay Batasan Hills, gave themselves up. – Romel Bagares
