For refusing to give him a massage, an ailing man reportedly stabbed his own daughter dead Saturday afternoon in Valenzuela City.
Geraldine Floreno, 24, of 43 Alley III, Barangay Palasan, Valenzuela City, succumbed to a single stab wound in the breast courtesy of her partially paralyzed father.
Fernando Floreno, 55, who is suffering from the effects of a mild stroke and was living with the victim, reportedly requested his daughter to give him a massage at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday in their house. But instead of heeding her fathers request, Geraldine, who separated from her husband only recently, did not pay him any attention as she was busy attending to her baby, police investigator PO3 Ruben Furegay said.
Feeling ignored, Fernando got irritated and reportedly shouted at Geraldine who also shouted back at her father. The shouting bout, however, turned bloody when Fernando, who could hardly walk, stood up and went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and attacked his daughter.
Concerned neighbors tried to save Geraldine by rushing her to the Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital but her attending physician, Dr. Anazario Lomio, declared her dead on arrival.
Senior Superintendent Leopoldo Urena, Valenzuela City police chief, immediately ordered the arrest of the suspect. Police recovered from the crime scene a bloody kitchen knife which the suspect reportedly used in killing his daughter. Pete Laude
