A 49-year-old janitor was killed while a fellow employee, a bus conductor, was seriously injured after a metal pole they were using to pick mangoes from a tree inside a Pasay City bus terminal touched a high tension wire.
Both employees of the Goldenline Bus whose terminal is along ESDSA extension in Pasay City, Antonio Odi died at the San Juan de Dios Hospital while 19-year-old conductor, Dodilan Dino, is still being treated for burns.
Based on the investigation of SPO1Antonio Canoy and PO2 Marianito Agas, the incident happened at about 11:35 a.m.
Police said Odi climbed atop a nearby roof and was assisted by Dino. The weight of the pole apparently caused Odi to lose control until it touched a nearby electric wire.
Meanwhle, a 52-year old man was shot in the neck and was killed in broad daylight during a jeepney cell phone robbery in Pasay City yesterday.
Ricardo Espiras, of 9046 Hormiga street, Makati City, was shot dead by the still unidentified holdupman while their passenger jeep (DKW-626) was cruising along EDSA in Maricaban, Pasay.
Investigators said the incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. when the victim apparently resisted the robber. The holdupman reportedly did not hesitate to shoot the victim with a still undetermined firearm in the side of the neck. The bullet exiting through his right temple.
There were eight other passengers in the jeep at the time. The suspect immediately escaped. Jose Aravilla
