Belmonte: Clear creeks before rains
March 2, 2002 | 12:00am
The Quezon City government took an early step preparing for the coming rainy season by launching a three-month long cleaning operation of creeks.
Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said that this would ensure the prevention of any flashfloods, particularly in the Balingasa creek which covers Barangays Apolonio Samson, Manresa, and Balingasa.
"This clean-up drive at the creek will surely be appreciated once the rainy season starts. It may still be months away, but it is very important we start this project early," Belmonte said.
