Navotas police cited

The successful rescue of a kidnap victim and the quick apprehension of suspects in two robbery cases are but two of the accomplishments that earned the Navotas police the recognition as Metro Manilas best municipal police force for last year.
The award for Best Municipal Police Station was given by the National Capital Regional Police Office during last weeks 11th anniversary celebration of the Philippine National Police (PNP). It was received by the Navotas police chief, Superintendent Roberto Villanueva.
The towns police force has consistently won the Best Municipal Police Station of the Month plum during the last quarter of 2001.
Navotas has 119 police officers to protect and serve a population of close to 3,000.
To help boost the town polices efficiency, Mayor Toby Tiangco has recently donated nine patrol cars, two motorcycles and converted a cargo container into an airconditioned police detachment. Pete Laude
