Manhunt on vs unemployed man for killing niece
February 4, 2002 | 12:00am
The Manila police launched a manhunt against a jobless man who stabbed and killed his niece in Tondo, Manila before dawn yesterday.
Police identified the suspect as Rolando Villorente, 27, a resident of GMA, Cavite.
Investigators linked Villorente to the killing of his niece Judith Villorente, a cigarette vendor, of 393 Calloran St., Gagalangin, Tondo, Manila. The victim died while being taken to the nearby Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital.
Probers said the victim was selling cigarettes along C.M. Recto, near Dagupan street in Tondo when the suspect approached and stabbed her with a knife.
Police theorized that an old grudge could be the motive behind the killing following reports that Rolando also killed his elder brother Jose, Judiths father in July of last year.
Investigators said they would coordinate with the victims relatives for the immediate arrest of the suspect, who has a standing warrant of arrest for killing Jose. Cecille Suerte Felipe
