New witness in Blanca case could firm up loose ends
February 2, 2002 | 12:00am
The new witness of the National Bureau of Investigation in the murder of veteran actress Nida Blanca could help wrap-up the investigation and tie-up any "loose ends" in the case.
According to Ric Diaz, NBI case spokesman, the new witness is close to one of the "key players" in the case.
"The witness is close to one of the players in the case. He knew of some details kept from the public because he was privy to the players phone calls and conversations," he said.
But Diaz told reporters that the identity of the new witness could not be publicly revealed as yet pending further verification. Diaz, however, said the information provided by the new witness significantly improved their chances of solving the case.
The source added that information given by the new witness could again link Rod Strunk, the late actress husband back to the case. As of the moment, the NBI has no concrete evidence to link Strunk to the case. Strunk is now in the US to visit his ailing mother, who unfortunately died.
Meanwhile, the NBI said the new witness could give details that would finally answer where Blanca was between 5:06 p.m. of Nov. 6 and 8:15 a.m. of Nov. 7 when she was found dead at the parking lot of the Atlanta Center.
"He gave details of the events. We were able to draw a diagram of what happened, and how each player was connected to the crime. The public might be shocked," the source said. Mike Frialde
