Mom holds kids hostage in Malabon

An alleged mentally-challenged housewife held hostage her own five-year-old son and his four-year-old playmate in a three-hour drama that left a policeman wounded Monday night in Malabon City.
Christian Chavez, the son of suspect Malou Chavez, 27, of Gulayan, Barangay Catnon, and his playmate Armel Libot were rescued unharmed by policemen.
PO1 Randy Cunanan of the Malabon police sustained a stab wound on the arm inflicted by the woman as he rescued the hostages.
Police investigation showed the incident took place around 8 p.m. Monday inside the suspects house. Police gathered that prior to the incident, the suspect had a heated argument with neighbors who allegedly were gossiping about her being a kept woman. Jerry Botial
