Two drug pushers nabbed in Malabon City

- Pete Laude -
Joint elements of the Northern Criminal Investigation and Detection Office (NCIDO) and the Metro Manila Drug Enforcement Group-North Sector (MMDEG-NS) arrested in a buy-bust operation two alleged notorious drug pushers Saturday afternoon in Malabon City.

Superintendent Gene Ines Abrajano, NCIDO chief, identified the suspects as Nanette Enriquez, alias "Nanette Tomboy," 32, of Barangay Tagalag, Valenzuela City and her alleged henchman, one Arturo Siagan, 21, alias "Kulit," of Block 15, Lot 19, Hernandez st., People’s Village, Barangay Catmon, Malabon City.

The suspects were reportedly arrested after a weeklong surveillance at around 1:30 p.m. by a crack team led by Inspector Eddie Regalado of the MMDEG-NS wherein around 30 grams of shabu were seized from them.

"Nanette Tomboy is a known drug pusher in Malabon but she transferred residence to Valenzuela recently when the local police were getting close to her," Abrajano said.

According to Abrajano, Regalado’s team pounced on the suspects along Hernandez st., after Siagan reportedly handed a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to a police undercover agent. He said it was Enriquez who received the payment.

In a follow-up operation at Enriquez’s residence in Barangay Tagalag, Valenzuela City, the police reportedly recovered shabu paraphernalia and a total of 20 sachets more of shabu with an estimated street value of some P30,000.

The suspects are now locked up at the NCIDO detention cell in Caloocan City. Charges are set to be filed against them today at the Malabon City prosecutor’s office.
