Honest cop, guard at NAIA cited

-
At least P5 million in cash and valuables were returned by an honest airport policeman and a security guard just moments after its owner lost them at the arrival area extension of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Canadian Marie Beth Caoile, who hails from San Fabian town in Pangasinan, thanked airport policeman Rolando Lim and security guard Ian Canencia no end for returning her money and valuables. NAIA General Manager Edgardo Manda personally commended Lim and Canencia.

Reports reaching Manda said when Caoile arrived from Canada at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, her trolley bag containing the P5 million was retrieved by mistake by another unidentified passenger. Caoile ran to the airport police after failing to find her bag at the arrival area.

To her surprise, Capt. Ricardo Madero and Cpl. Ricardo Manalo were already talking to Lim, who had just received the trolley bag from the unidentified passenger.

Caoile’s belongings included assorted jewelry and watches, P300,000 cash and compact discs.
