Makati to honor 18 outstanding residents

Eighteen residents of Makati will be honored by the city government in recognition of their accomplishments in their respective fields and their contribution to the development of Makati.
The tribute will be held on Jan. 7 to coincide with Makatis celebration of the seventh anniversary of its cityhood.
"In our own little way, we want to show our gratitude to these outstanding citizens of Makati who have given honor and distinction to our city. They have also worked tirelessly to help the government provide services to the people of Makati," Mayor Jejomar Binay said.
Lingling Cervantes, chief of the Makati Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department said the recipients of the awards are Andy Verde, dzRH Operation Tulong and Flordeliza Estacio, Show Your Care Foundation for the Social Services Sector; Efren Balajadia, Asia Foundation for Education; Robin Martin and Chit Ventura, Inrel Philippines for Health; Juan Carlos Jr. and Ma. Luisa Romero of the Rotary Club of Makati; Ray Ventura (posthumous) for the Arts and Culture; Bishop Crisostomo Yalung, for the Religious; Allan Rupido for Public Order; Henry Sy Jr., SM Prime Holdings for Business; Col. Eliseo Cardenas, Ayala Center Association for Youth Development; Senior Inspector Roberto Gutierrez (posthumous) and Chief Inspector Nestor Salvador (posthumous) for Protective Services; Commissioner Manolo Edilberto Trinidad, Philippine Basketball League and Commissioner Emilio Bernardino Jr., Philippine Basketball Association for Sports; Architect Felino Palafox for Community Development and Eduardo Nicolas Sanchez Jr. Reach Network Philippines, Inc. for the Information Technology.
