12 dogs perish in fire

A fire of still undetermined origin, razed a warehouse in Tondo, Manila, early yesterday morning, leaving 12 imported dogs dead and at least P5 million in damage.
Reports said Alfred Lo, a member of the Manila Fire Volunteer Brigade was injured and was rushed to the hospital after a burning wooden beam fell on his head.
According to reports, the fire started at about 3:00 a.m. inside the warehouse owned by a certain Jose Chua, located on Limay Street corner Torres Bugallon in Tondo.
The blaze quickly reached the 5th alarm before firefighters contained the fire at about 5:06 a.m.
Chua, a Filipino-Chinese trader, told investigators that the fire also killed 12 Japanese dogs worth P25,000 each and a golden arowana worth P20,000 which was in a tank inside the warehouse.
Meanwhile, a four-year-old girl was ran over by a wrecker while trying to retrieve her watusi the other day in Makati City. The victim was identified as Angelica Alvarina of 2701 Guatemala St., Barangay San Isidro, Makati City.
The driver of the wrecker was identified as Wilson Genuino, married, an employee of Choice Motors located at 2696 Guatemala St. The incident took place at around 2:35 p.m. along Guatemala street near Batangas street last Thursday. Mike Frialde and Marvin Sy
