-
A fisherman was stabbed dead by three unidentified men in a holdup incident in Navotas early yesterday morning.

Victim Roger Tada, 25, a stay-in fisherman at the Philamancor Fishing Company with offices at Pier 5, Navotas Fishport Complex, succumbed to a stab wound in the chest. His attackers remain at large.

According to initial police investigation, the incident happened at around 2 a.m. at Pier 1. Police gathered that the victim was walking with a friend identified as Mario Tacda, a welder at Market 3, Navotas Fishport, while scouting for a videoke bar when they encountered the robbers. One of the men greeted the victim a "Merry Christmas" before announcing the holdup.

Police said Tacda managed to run away, leaving the victim behind. The victim apparently resisted, prompting his attackers to stab him. – Jerry Botial
