Inspector Romeo Ramos, chief of the Makati City police Homicide Division, identified the victim as Gerardo Ozaeta, Jr., a resident of 137 G. Reyes ST., San Juan.
Ramos said the Makati City police headquarters was informed about the body inside a Mercedes Benz MB100 van (UND-266) parked along Kalayaan Avenue corner C-5 Road in Barangay West Rembo, Makati City at around 5:45 p.m. last Monday.
The body was found slumped on the drivers side of the van with the seat belt still attached. A screwdriver was embedded on the left side of the victims body along with the tips of two umbrellas stuck on the lower portion of his ear, investigators said.
Police were able to question a certain Allan Bagay, a resident living near the area, who claimed that he saw the car pulled over the side of the road with its hazard lights on at around 3:30 a.m.
Bagay said that he saw a balding man wearing a white T-shirt and denims kneeling at the drivers side of the van. He did not pay attention to what the man was doing as he was busy with his chores, Bagay added. Marvin Sy
