There’s no next time for this ‘rapist’

-
"Sa uulitin ha (Until the next time)."

Those were allegedly the parting words of a 24-year-old man to a teenage girl after he reportedly sexually molested her Tuesday night in the boarding house they shared in Quezon City.

But suspect Oliver Bitco, a valet parking attendant, will not be able to touch his young victim again. Bitco was arrested by elements of the Central Police District-Station 10 after the 18-year-old girl (whose name The STAR withheld) immediately reported the incident to the police. He is now detained at the station’s detention cell, facing rape charges.

Case investigator Senior Police Officer 4 Cora Sandoval of the Women’s and Children’s Concerns Desk said the incident happened between 6 and 6:30 p.m. in a boarding house along E. Rodriguez Avenue Barangay Immaculate Concepcion.

The victim, who worked the night shift, had just taken a bath and was getting dressed in her bedroom when Bitco reportedly sneaked in.

Armed with a fan knife, he threatened the girl before raping her, Sandoval said. His prurient interest satisfied, Bitco told the girl to put her clothes on and before leaving the room, even asked for a second time. But the victim proceeded straight to the police station and revealed her ordeal to authorities.

Bitco was asleep in the boarding house when the police came to arrest him. Sandoval said Bitco admitted being under the influence of liquor when he molested the girl. He also admitted giving that parting shot to his victim, the investigator added. – Nikko Dizon
