Members of the Parañaque City police arrested Thursday night a 27-year-old resident after he yielded a kilo of shabu disguised as a cake.
Parañaque City police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) men nabbed Enrico Soliman Javier while allegedly waiting for a buyer in the parking lot of a fastfood chain at about 9 p.m.
Superintendent Ruben Catabona, acting city police chief, said his men found the kilo of shabu in a popular cake maker's box inside a plastic carrying bag of the cake house. Police usually estimate a kilo of shabu to be worth P2 million on the street.
Catabona said DEU men were tipped off of the drug deal about to go down at the corner of Santos and President Avenues in BF Homes. Charges are now being prepared against Javier.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Northern Field Office and the Metro Manila Drug Enforcement Group arrested four persons, including an alleged big-time drug pusher Thursday night in Malabon City.
Mardie Samson, 29, of Gueriko street, Barangay Baritan, Malabon, was arrested while reportedly handing P500 worth of shabu to a police undercover agent.
He allegedly yielded a total of 17 sachets of the illegal substance.Three other suspects, Ariel Sanches, 39, Aries Naval, 23, and Kenneth Aquino, 24, all of Barangay Baritan, were also arrested while reportedly sniffing shabu in Samsons house.
Samson reportedly enjoyed protection from unscrupulous officials, Superintendent Gene Ines Abrajano, CIDG-NFO chief said.
The operatives reportedly pounced on Samson as he handed five transparent plastic sachets of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
In Mandaluyong City, a 40-year-old woman and her two nephews were arrested Thursday for allegedly selling 7..25 kilos of marijuana.
Superintendent Sukarno Ikbala, the city police chief, identified the suspects as Benita Aquino, 40, her nephews Sherwin Aquino, 18 and Cris Simbajon, 26, all residing at 506 Nueve de Pebrero, Barangay Addition Hills.
Chief Inspector Roberto Fajardo, Drug Enforcement Unit chief, said the suspects were arrested after several months of surveillance operations.
Fajardo said Aquino and her nephews eluded police sting operations because they refused to sell their illegal stuff to addicts not known to them.
But Fajardo assigned a police agent to befriend Aquino and struck a deal for the sale of 7.25 kilos of dried marijuana leaves. Pete Laude, Jose Aravilla and Non Alquitran
