Health care for Muntinlupa

The Muntinlupa Council has approved the Health Care Program for the city which will give health cards with up to 75 percent discounts on hospital bills of the marginalized sector of society.

The health care program will give equal footing to poor folk in terms of acquiring quality health services at the newly built Ospital ng Muntinlupa located at the Filinvest Corporate City in Alabang. The program will be supervised by the Health Care Commission chaired by Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, Vice Mayor Jo Jason Alcaraz as vice-chair, head of the committee on health and sanitation of the city council, city health officer, city treasurer, city administrator, city attorney, social service department head, members of the Muntinlupa Medical Society, people’s organizations, Ospital ng Muntinlupa Foundation and the Association of Barangay Captains.

Under the program, health cards will also be given to the card beneficiaries’ spouse and children. The Health Care Commission will distribute four different types of health cards, K-Card Diamond, K-Card Gold, K-Card Silver, and Privileged Card.

The K-Card Diamond is intended for poor families with a monthly income of P7,000 and below who do not have PhilHealth coverage. The city government will shoulder 75 percent of the total hospital expenses while the patient will pay the minimal 25 percent. The K-Card Gold is for the Beneficiaries of the Social Security Systems (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and PhilHealth with a monthly income of P7,000 up to P13,000. The cardholders will get a 50 percent discount shouldered by the city government after the Philhealth coverage has been deducted.
