Arab kills pedestrian

An Arab motorist was arrested yesterday by the Manila police after he allegedly ran over and killed a pedestrian who was picking up garbage along Roxas Boulevard in Ermita, Manila.
Mohammad Ramadan Ali, 41, a Kuwaiti, surrendered to the police after hitting the still unidentified man who was crossing the boulevard in front of the Grand Boulevard Hotel.
The Western Traffic Division said the accident happened at about 5 a.m. Police are still trying to determine if the victim was a street sweeper or a beggar as he was pushing a cart full of garbage. Charges are now being prepared against Ali. Jose Aravilla
