NBI agents raid Grand Inihaw disco

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) rescued over the weekend 26 female nude dancers, half of them minors, from an alleged prostitution den in Quezon City.

Members of the NBI Violence Against Women and Children Division (VAWCD) also arrested four floor managers of the Grand Inihaw disco pub and launched a hunt for the establishment’s owner identified as Felipe Tamaso.

NBI-VAWCD head Angelique Somera said floor managers Lilia Balana, 50, Rebecca Macabare, 47, Mary Ann Lazaro, and Donna Perez will be charged with child abuse. The club is located near the Quezon City Rotunda at the corner of Mayon and España streets.

Aside from lewd shows, the NBI said the night club also allegedly allows its dancers to have sex with guests for P1,200 an hour.

Based on the NBI’s investigation, the dancers were recruited from the provinces and were promised decent employment in Metro Manila. When the NBI raided the place, 20 women were found dancing naked on stage.

The NBI said the women were made to work from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. The NBI said the alleged prostitution in the club was exposed by a television show. – Jose Aravilla
