The NBI identified those arrested as Kongan Dalping, alias Akong, 30, allegedly the leader of the group; his brother Toks Dalping, 32, Paizal Makaraya, 24, and Badria Casim, 46, all natives of Maguindanao, and temporary residents of Elizondo street in Quiapo Manila.
According to the NBI Narcotics Division, they received information that Kongan was looking for a buyer for one kilo of shabu, allegedly in his possession.
The NBI, through a poseur-buyer set-up an entrapment operation along Globo de Oro street in Quiapo last Thursday. At about 10 p.m., Kongan and Toks Dalping, Makaraya and Casim were collared by the NBI as they handed over the shabu in exchange for marked cash to an undercover NBI agent.
During the entrapment operation, a brief shooting ensued which resulted in the wounding of Makaraya, the NBI said.
Investigation showed that the suspects are allegedly involved in the distribution of shabu in Batangas, Laguna, Cavite and Metro Manila.
According to the NBI, the suspects use Quiapo as their base of operation and get their shabu from a certain Allan Ong from Binondo, Manila. Mike Frialde
