Seven held for frat war

Seven people, five of them youngsters, were arrested when two warring fraternities clashed inside a hospital in Mandaluyong City over the weekend.

Those arrested were visiting their wounded companions, Joseph Zalatin and Alberto Salvador, at the Mandaluyong City Hospital when their rival frat members attacked them, said Superintendent Sukarno Ikbala, Mandaluyong City police chief.

Two of those arrested and sent to jail were Renier Calalang, 19,and Rico Alberto, 21.Police kept the identities of the five others since they were minors.

Police said Zalatin and Salvador were stabbed in the abdomen during a rumble in Barangay Hulo at about 7 p.m. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.

However, when their companions visited them, their rival fraternity members followed them and another rumble broke out some two and a half hours later.– Non Alquitran
