Businesswoman shot dead in Kamias

-
Police are now hunting two armed men who robbed and shot dead a 40-year-old businesswoman inside a meatshop in Kamias, Quezon City yesterday.

Victim Fe Senzon, a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, sustained a bullet wound in the body and was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

The two men, both armed with handguns, took the woman’s handbag and fled on board a gold Mitsubishi Elf with no license plates, taking with them the fatal weapons.

Initial investigations showed that the incident took place at about 1 p.m. inside the Tita’s Special Pampanga meat products shop located at 33 Kamias Street in Quezon City.

According to the meatshop’s employees, Feliza Isip, 22, and her cousin Rosanna Isip, 23, the victim was about to buy meat products when the gunmen barged inside the store.

One of the men announced the holdup. The gunmen then grabbed Senzon’s handbag and shot her, hitting her in the chest.

"When the robbers announced the heist, my cousin and I lay down on the floor. We later heard a gunshot and only emerged from the counter when the suspects had gone," Rosanna said in an interview.

According to SPO1 Rafael de Peralta, the shooting could not be just an ordinary case of robbery because the gunmen did not bother with the shop’s cash register. "We are puzzled about this. There is the possibility that the suspects actually knew the victim and might have had an old grudge against her," De Peralta said. — Matthew Estabillo
